Rosie, you saved my life once while i was at the deepest depths of drug addiction and criminal lifestyle. when i came to my senses you brought me homade soup. thanks. im sorry you had to go.i guess god was gathering flowers for the master's bouquet in heaven. jt
Sis, I admire you so much. You experienced more than your share of loss, yet you were never a victim. Somehow you were able to turn the tragedy you experienced into love and service to others. Your down to earth disposition and outside of the box approach to life was most endearing and made you very special. I miss you so much.
Losing Rosie is the worst loss I have ever experienced! I am a whimp compared to her. I can't imagine her not here to follow up on our future, planned escapades. You made me a better person Rosie. I'll never forget you "Podner"! :-).. let's leave them to wonder!! A big squeezing hug to you! Love You and will remember you always. Charlene
Mrs. Hertel was my counselor and home ec. teacher but the worst thing is I didn't even have the chance to have her for home ec. she was my 2nd semester teacher. I saw Rosie on Friday witch is very hard because she had no side effects we were joking and laughing and eating passtacios. She even told another teacher that she was getting water for that kid in her room witch was me and then came in and said "Here that kid!" lol she was always eating healthy and drinking weird things. Last year she even brought sea weed to her home ec. class. She was an amazing lady and I hope Carey can heal over time and that he knows we are all there for him. She was always just so funny and willing to talk to any student about any of their problems and getting them help!!! We love you and miss you Mrs. Hertel Rest In Peace and keep all your students safe.
I can't imagine not having Rosie at school. She was my neighbor in the junior high. She was there for me when I needed a shoulder and I tried to be there for her. Even though she had been dealt some blows these last few years she still managed to put a smile on her face and help her students deal with their issues. Rosie, you hold a special place in my heart and I will never forget you. Love, Joan
Rosie I have to say was a true friend and a classy lady. She was who she was and was happy and always had a positive outlook even though she had gone through far more than her share of pain. She had a remarkable mind that was always thinking and she loved to talk. she would call me and talk for 15 min non stop and just as I was about to say something she would say. OK Bye! I had to laugh but she always made me feel good. She wanted to ride her horse at my home next summer and I told her yes anytime. My seven yr old grandaughter Gracie said God must have needed a good teacher in heaven and he picked the best with Rosie. She was open and honest and always there for any student or friend who needed someone to talk to. She always looked out for those who needed a friend and was their for them. I will miss our talks and that ever presant smile. Thanks for being there for all of us and enjoy Joe and Chad and that baby and I will be looking for you on the north 40 when the sun shines and a rainbow appears on the red rocks after a rain and I will know you are riding that horse and enjoying the sunset. Your friend forever, Dan H.
Rosie, you had a knack for finding kids who needed you, including me. You helped to shape the person that I am today with your energy, positivity, and complete acceptance. You always challenged me to be a better person, to be kind and respectful to everyone I meet, and to never judge. Your strength and class were beyond admirable and you have become one of the people in my life I seek to never disappoint (although I know that disappointing you may be impossible). You hold me to a higher standard as a person without actually doing so. I will love and miss you forever my friend.
What I really loved and admired about Rosie was her exceptional generosity in every aspect of her life. She had so much to give and share with all of us and she expected so little in return. She truly cared for humanity and went out of her way to reach out to those who needed a friend. I will really miss her. Love you Rosie! Your cousin Joan.
Rosie, Whoever planned your service did a great job, I am sure you loved it! It was clear that you made a difference to many of your students, family, and neighbors. I hope there is a yellow Ford Falcon in heaven so you can plan your next road trip. (Plan might be a little bit of an overstatement). You generous spirit and kindness will be remembered. Love Cousin Mike
Rest In Paradise Mrs. Hertel you helped me through some very tough times in my life and you showed me the right.way in life i thank you love and miss you
Oh, Rosie Posie, what will I do without you coming to my classroom everyday? You could always make me laugh!! We shared so many things, especially our love for clothes and shoes :) You were an inspiration to many - young and old!! One of the things that I admired about you most was your acceptance of everyone and positive attitude. You went from being one of my favorite teachers (way back when @ PCHS) to becoming one of my dearest friends. I agree with Dan's granddaughter, "God needed a good teacher in Heaven"!! I will miss you!!! Love, Tricia
We dated in college. I've cared about you for 35 years. I was coming to Montana in the Spring, have lunch and talk with you again. Not to be. Not to be. Breaks my heart.
Rosie you were my best friend, my teacher, my councelor and my "mother" =*( you were always there when I needed you. When my mom had that break down you were there to take me in. Roise I love u and I will miss you so much R.I.P Rosie. You were always an angel I guess god needed you than we did. Roise It breaks my heart to hear that you had left everyone. Love you forever.
We shared many good times, had a few hard times And shed a few tears over the years. That’s what a friend is for Thank you Rosie just for being you.
Yet I don’t remember one harsh or angry word ever between us In 35 years…….
It was a great misfortune that we were both always so quiet and shy Rosie said one time that either of us could make A couple of friends in a check out line at the grocery store
We’ll meet again at the rainbows end my friend With laughter in our hearts But for the moment it is with tears in my eyes That I remember you... with aloha A hui hou Rosie
Oh Rosie! You are missed. You still make us laugh, cry, smile, and shake our heads in wonder when we talk to you. You will always make a difference because of the big way you lived ... always giving of your heart and soul, energy and resources, and giving the shirt off your tiny back if it would help another! You reminded me of your namesake. Mom had the heartaches and hardships, but you seem to be served SO many! Your life of giving is something I will try to live up to. I love you cousin! I miss you sunbathing by the pool in a hat, boots, and a tiny bikini laying directly on the warm cement with a cold glass in hand. You embraced life always.
I just saw that Rosemary had died. I am so sad to learn of this. I met her when we both were in the counseling program at the University of Montana. Rosemary was it really really great and wonderful person. She suffered a lot of loss during the last 10 years but she always remained positive and loving. Even though I have not seen her in a while as I moved out of Montana comma I have always kept her in my heart and thoughts. Rosemary there's a lot of people on Earth who love you dearly and I know the heavens are loving you too
with a 50 year reunion coming up, I just learned of Rosemary's passing. She was the sweetest person in high school and I'm not surprised that she was a life long educator. Condolences to all in her circle.
Rosie you were the best sister and friend. My life will be less bright with you gone.
